On July 10th we celebrated the British Formula one event at Silverstone with a BBQ and Harry Payne
sung us through the evening. He was an amazing guitarist and a talented newcomer, he will definately
be appearing again at the Star!












Our beer festival took place over two days 26/27th June and we had glorious weather.
We had four bands perform including Frances and Harry above. The Happy club,Stereo asylum and
Prestige performed in front of a supportive crowd.

The Moulton Morris dancers gave us a good show outside the pub and were great fun!



In the rear field we provided face painting with Maggie, stalls including the air ambulance charity, Ferrett roulette
which was so amusing and Geoff raised £50 for Help for heroes charity.
We had 9 ales on sale and Ted, Charlie and Charlotte slaved over a hot barbeque. Whilst Clive cooked his fine menu
in the restaurant and pub for those wanting a special meal.
A big thank you to all those who came to support us.




5th June We had a visit from the Thames Vale Advanced Motorcycle group
who popped in for lunch.





4th June MG live weekend at Silverstone

We were very happy to have Tom Wilson from Indianna stay with us for the weekend.
He bought along his MGTC which won trophy's for best in class and best TC at Silverstone.
He even took Gillie for a ride which she loved.

15th May we had a visit from the veteran cycle club.Douglas Ward arranged the visit and the
group cycled from Aynho to visit the Star








28th April
The first match of the Aunt Sally season took place in the cold and rain at home and was the first victory for
the Aunt Sally team.
The score was 28 to 16 against the Three Pigeons of Banbury.

28th March

We had a visit for lunch from the MX5 owners club. Carol Fowler arranged the drive out to Sulgrave.




21st February

We were delighted to welcome the Austin 10 club who visited the Star for Sunday lunch.
We woke up to snow but many cars made it through the slippery roads and a few others
joined them for the fun.

13th February

The Star hosted a Valentines four course dinner and their customers were delighted with the guest Magician
and illusionist Chris Nicholson.

  




9th January 2010
Sledging off the gated road was enjoyed by a group of adults from the Star who became kids again for an hour or two.......

28th December
Dogs day out was well supported by 11 dogs from the village.
We walked to the Crown at Weston and the hardy walked the return trip to the Star where we enjoyed
mulled wine and mince pies.


        

                                                 
On Christmas morning it was a full house as the pub was visited by many of our local friends.

     


    




On Friday 18th December we woke to a beautiful snowfall .



In the evening the Carol singers gathered in the pub for a song. 





Saturday 12th December was a perfect day for a wedding....Fergus Stewart was joined by his Ushers for lunch at the Star
and the evening was the venue for Mark Gascoine, his new bride 'Jaynee' and their friends following their wedding
 at Sulgrave Manor.







7th December
The Star held a charity event which involved a Karaoke, an auction , and a back wax!
Guests include Niall Mackenzie and a Red Devil!
Over £700 was raised for help the heroes charity.

31st October 'The Star ' was the venue for Lesley Evans farewell party before leaving for South Africa.


All her friends and family enjoyed a great night.






On Sunday 8th November part of the Grafton Chase course passed the rear of the pub in an exciting atmosphere.




Friday 20th November the ladies of Sulgrave said farewell to Julie with a meal at the Star restaurant.
 



The morning of 21st November saw the gathering of the Grafton hunt in the village and passing the pub on their route.
